Lviv - Odessa. Winter dream

Day 1
Arrival
You arrive in the ancient city of Lviv
· Guided bus tour of the city which was founded at the crossroads of ancient trade routes, world cultures and religions. Lviv unique architectural monuments, cosy and somewhat mystic medieval atmosphere, the traditions and charm have been remarkably preserved through the ages. You’ll observe the baroque St. George Cathedral, ancient Lviv Universities, elegant central avenues, beautiful theatres, monuments and parks.
· Lunch
· Visit to the world famous opera singer Solomiya Krushelnytska Memorial Museum. You will learn about the life of famous prima donna of Teatro de La Scala and listen to a short chamber music concert;
· The evening is spent enjoying at the Opera House
Day 2
· Walking tour of medieval Lviv (UNESCO World Heritage Site). The city demonstrates the full range of European styles from Renaissance to Art Nouveau; there was a little damage during the World War II or Soviet rule. Begin in the main Rynok square with Renaissance façades from the 16th cent., Town Hall building and imposing fountains and continue to the late 16th-cent., Ukrainian Orthodox Assumption Church, the Gothic Roman Catholic Cathedral and the ancient mystic Armenian Cathedral, dating back to the 14th cent… Visiting museums (Art gallery, Potocky palace, house of scientists)
· Lunch in the very heart of medieval city.
· In the afternoon we invite you to the underground Lviv Brewery Museum. You will get acquainted with the traditions of beer making in Ukraine and taste unique sorts of fresh beer.
- Dinner in Lviv typical restaurant with live music*.
Day 3 (outside of Lviv)
Option 1: We take you on a wonderful tour to a little charming historic city of ZHOVKVA and Krechiv Greek Catholic monastery. You’ll observe Lviv suburbs, villages, fantastic architectural monuments and admire picturesque nature. If the weather is good you will have a chance to take water from a “Holy Spring” known in Ukraine.
Option 2: Excursion to Brody – renowned Jewish religious and cultural centre, native city of the famous Austrian writer Moses Joseph Roth. Synagogue of the 17th c. and one of the largest Jewish cemeteries of Ukraine. On the way back to Lviv visit to Olesko Castle - an outstanding architectural and historic monument from the 13th - 18th centuries.
Famous Polish king Jan III Sobieski was born there. After restoration Olesko Castle became a museum. Hundreds of unique paintings, sculptures and applied arts samples can be observed in the museum.
- Dinner in the medieval restaurant in the castle (local cuisine and herb and fruit drinks tasting accompanied by the medieval style music).
Option 3: Truskavets
Day 4
Option 1:
- Walking city tour. Excursion to the Medieval Jewish Quarter. Famous Renaissance “Golden Rose” Synagogue remnants. Bet Hamidrash. Dem Parnas House…
- Klezmer dinner with typical Lviv Jewish melodies and food.
