ORIENTAL CHERRY FLOWERING IN UZHGOROD

At the end of April — the beginning of May of every year inhabitants and city visitors of Uzhgorod can admire unique and extraordinary beautiful moment — flowering of Oriental cherries with which the avenue of Oriental cherries at the river Uzh and more many other streets of this extremely beautiful Zakarpatye city is set. Traditionally, at this time in the city passes a cultural event — the Oriental Cherry Fest festival. Within a festival various cultural events are held.

   Departure from Odessa by train.

• 2:17 p.m.
   Depature in Uzhgorod.
• Dinner.
   Walking tour "Meet Uzhgorod":
  • Uzhgorod Castle (IX-XIII Centuries) – constructed in style of the Renaissance, more than 360 years it was the estate of the Italian aristocrats of a family of Drugetti;
  • Museum of local lore – meetings of finds of a bronze age, the coins, valuable manuscripts;
  • The room of tortures – an exposition of this room consists of exhibits of various tools of tortures of times of inquisition. It should be noted that the most part of such exhibits is modern copies, however originals are submitted also. Anyway, this exposition touches eveone.
  • You will see:
    • Zakarpatye museum of architecture and life – the village open-air museum;
    • Meeting architectural monuments of Uzhgorod: Korzo Street, Augustine Voloshin Street, Teatralnaya Square;
    • The Greek Catholic Cathedral, wich was constructed by Jesuits in the 2nd part of the XVII century;
    • Oriental cherry, wich is a sacred tree of Japanese. You will see it walking in the tree nursery of Laudon. 
      This miracle strikes people around, creating a peculiar atmosphere of greatness and beauty. 
      Then thr walk on the embankment of Uzhgorod where there is the longest in Europe linden avenue (2,2 km) is planned.
    • Also there will be car excursion to the village Nevitsky – going to the ruins of the castle of "Nasty maiden" which is mentioned for the first time at the beginning of the XIV century as a stronghold of local feudal lords against the royalty of Charles Robert Anzhu.
• Returning to Uzhgorod.
   Check in hotel.
• Dinner. Accommodation for the night.

• Car excursion to Mukachevo
   – the ancient city over the river Latoritsa, where there is a set of ancient buildings and silent small streets. 
  You can see there:
  • Medieval defensive "Palanok" castle;
  • Historical part of the city of Mukachevo: "White House" palace of XVIIth.
  • St. Martin's chapel, City Town hall (1904), Monastery of Holy Nikolay of Mukachev.
• Departure for Beregovo.
   Bathing in the thermal open-air pool. There is just a few sources with similar composition of water in the world. They are in New Zealand, Iceland,Sakhalin and Kamchatka.
• Returning to Uzhgorod.
   Free time.
• 5:10 p.m.
   Gathering of a group at the railway station.
• 17:53 p.m.
   Departure by train for Odessa.

• 12:45 p.m.
   Arrival in Odessa
